17. RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS
A) RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS:
Religious institution is a system of belief & practices influencing human events where man is helpless to explain them.Religious institutions are very useful for the moral and spiritual development of a country.
B) STRUCTURE OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION:
- BELIEFS: The belief is a sensation of brain and belongs to faith but no reason. E.g. belief in one God.
- RITUALS: They are the sacred and accepted practices. E.g. offering of prayers.
- SACRED OBJECTS: They are objects which are regarded as holy. E.g. Holy Quran, Bible Etc…
C) FUNCTION OF RELIGIOUS INSTITUTION:
- Provides place of worship.
- Control religious activities in the society.
- Provide education.
- Provide social services to the masses.
- Provide recreation.
- Moves fear and anxiety.
- Provide relationship between mankind and God.
- Provide preservation of cultural values.
- They create physical and social cleanliness.
- It is a standard of right and wrong in the society.
